City Island is a village. Daycare options on the island are few. My Piccolo Mondo is the licensed group family day care just inland at 1466 Ohm Ave — still the East Bronx, still a home, still a place where a child is known by name.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Infants from six weeks, toddlers, and preschoolers up to five. English and Italian. Meals included. Lucia answers the phone herself.
