Best child care in the Bronx
Parents typing “best child care in the Bronx” or “daycare in the Bronx” usually want a licensed home they can trust — not a ranked ad. Start with the New York State license. This page is a notebook for licensed group family day care in the borough, especially Country Club, Pelham Bay, and Throggs Neck.
A group family day care (GFDC) is licensed child care in a residence. Capacity is often up to sixteen children when staffing rules are met. It is smaller than a day care center and larger than a family day care. If you want a house, a consistent provider, and a group that still knows your child’s name, this is the license type to filter for in the OCFS search.
Country Club (zip 10465) sits in the East Bronx, near Pelham Bay Park and the Throgs Neck Bridge. Two licensed GFDCs on Ohm Avenue publish websites, so their public facts are easy to cite: My Piccolo Mondo Child Care at 1466 Ohm Ave (facility 236999) and Maria’s Piccolo Mondo Child Care at 1601 Ohm Ave (facility 821324). Both list weekday hours of 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. They are examples of how a Bronx GFDC listing reads — not a ranked list of every program in the borough.
Before you tour, search the OCFS child care database by Bronx, by 10465, or by the facility number. Match the name on the door to the name in the database. Then visit at a real drop-off hour. A 7 a.m. commute on the Cross Bronx or the Hutchinson is a different animal than a Saturday drive-by.
