From Connecticut
Daycare if you live in Connecticut
Greenwich, Stamford, and Darien parents sometimes look south of the state line for a licensed New York group family day care with a 7-to-6 weekday. The homes on this notebook are in Country Club, Bronx. They are not Connecticut licenses. DSS / OEC rules in Connecticut do not replace OCFS.
I-95 South into Pelham and the East Bronx is the usual map. It is workable from the closest Connecticut towns on a good morning and miserable in a nor’easter. If you cannot hit 7:00 AM drop-off on a random Wednesday, this is the wrong plan.
The two public GFDC listings — 1466 Ohm Ave and 1601 Ohm Ave — keep Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, closed weekends. New York State facility 236999 (My Piccolo Mondo Child Care) and 821324 (Maria’s Piccolo Mondo Child Care). Look them up in the OCFS database, not in a Connecticut portal.
Ask, in writing, about out-of-state parents, emergency pickup, and whether they have ever enrolled a Connecticut family. Interstate commutes fail on sick days. Have a New York–side backup before you pay a deposit.
Questions from this map
Can Connecticut residents enroll in a Bronx daycare?
Often yes — the license is New York’s, at a Bronx address. Confirm with the program. You still tour in the Bronx and you still live with I-95.
What time would I need to arrive from Connecticut?
The Ohm Avenue listings open at 7:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
