Daycare if you live in Queens
Plenty of Queens parents search “daycare near me” and still end up touring a licensed home in the East Bronx. The programs listed here are licensed in Country Club, not in Queens. The visit, the license, and the pickup are at the Bronx house.
The usual roads are the Whitestone Bridge, the Throgs Neck Bridge, and the Cross Bronx at an hour you would never choose for fun. Time the drive on a weekday morning before you enroll. A 7:00 AM open means you are on the approach before the sun is up.
The two Ohm Avenue group family day cares — 1466 and 1601 — list Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. That window is why some Flushing, Whitestone, Bayside, and College Point families make the trip: a full workday on the other side of the bridge, a small licensed home instead of a large Queens center.
Do not skip the New York license check because the commute is the hard part. OCFS still applies. Facility numbers 236999 and 821324 are the public records for the two Country Club examples. Confirm openings and backup care in writing. If a sick-day policy requires a parent in Queens in twenty minutes, that is a no.
Questions from this map
Can Queens families use a Bronx daycare?
Yes. A New York GFDC license is tied to the program address, not to your borough. You tour and pick up in the Bronx. Time the Whitestone or Throgs Neck crossing at drop-off hour before you commit.
What time does Country Club daycare open for Queens commuters?
The listings on this notebook open at 7:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
